Allies Toasted at Lower Mainland Appreciation Event
Lower Mainland Allies received a big thank you from Power Smart at the 2008 Appreciation Event, held this past February at the popular Rocky Mountaineer Train Station in Vancouver. The event, which has become an annual favorite, is an opportunity to recognize the achievements of our industrial and commercial Alliance members. It’s also a chance to partake in festivities, great food and the camaraderie of fellow Allies.
This year’s event was no exception. More than 175 guests enjoyed a well-deserved evening off at the spacious venue, which was transformed into a bustling games arcade, complete with car-racing and ski simulators, virtual tennis and a host of other games. Some guests engaged in fierce competition at the hockey and foosball tables, while more than a few pinball champions showed off their games’ muscle.
About halfway through the evening, a red carpet was rolled out, signaling that it was time for the awards ceremony and for guests to take a seat around the winners’ boxing ring. This year’s 10 recipients were invited to step into the winner’s circle to accept their awards.
Each recipient received a black crystal wall plaque, engraved with the company and Power Smart logos as well as a personal message acknowledging his/her company’s contributions. Honourees were also invited to cheer on the Vancouver Canucks at a hockey game against the Colorado Sharks at GM Place as guests of the Power Smart team.
Bets are already on about the theme for next year’s event. Congratulations to this year’s honourees!
