Product Incentive Program Update

In addition to marking the start of a New Year, January also ushered in some changes that impact the Product Incentive Program (PIP). Here is a quick overview of what members can expect in 2011.

On January 6th, 2011, a variety of changes were made to the available configurations in PIP. A number of incentives were removed and few others were added or had the incentive level updated. To learn more about this first phase of changes, have a look at a list of those incentives that have been removed and/or added.

The second set of changes, which will come into effect on March 31st, 2011, are prompted by the province’s new General Service Lighting regulation which was instituted on January 1st, 2011.  This provincial ruling refers to an efficiency standard that regulates the majority of existing medium screw base incandescent light bulbs. At this time, retrofits related to <100 W incandescent category will be updated. Have a look at which incentives will be impacted in the second phase of changes.

Please note that these incentive values are only applicable to those customers eligible for PIP. The incentive value for customers applying through the Power Smart Partners Express program will be calculated per project, as per normal program policy.

If you are unsure about which program your customer is eligible for, please contact the Power Smart Business Helpdesk at 1 866 522 4713 or at incentives@bchydro.com.
