Keeping people informed is a BC Hydro priority
BC Hydro will continue to keep people informed of our progress during construction, and will work with affected residents and businesses to manage any impacts resulting from the project.
BC Hydro has been consulting with the public on this project since 2006 and will to continue to work with them to resolve issues throughout the construction process.
In addition, a separate First Nations consultation process is being led by BC Hydro's Aboriginal Relations and Negotiations Department.

Environmental and Construction Management PlanningOn June 27, 2011, BC Hydro held a community meeting to share information about the Ruskin Dam and Powerhouse Upgrade Project and get feedback on draft environmental and construction management plans. Please see the Information Session Presentation [PDF, 450 KB], along with a project workbook [PDF, 1.6 MB] for more details. The workbook can be downloaded, edited and returned to BC Hydro via email or fax to 604 623 3937, Attention Judy Dobrowolski. What's happened so farPublic engagement on the Ruskin dam and powerhouse upgrade project began in 2006. Each year, project information has been sent to more than 4,000 residences and businesses in the project area. Advertisements have been placed in local newspapers to update people on the project. Annual community open houses and numerous meetings with local stakeholder groups and residents were held so that members of the public could speak directly with the project team and share their view and ideas. Regular updates were also provided to the District of Mission council, mayor and staff. BC Hydro continues to engage with the community and affected stakeholders on the development of construction management plans for the project.
