Keeping people informed is a priority
BC Hydro will continue to keep people informed of our progress during construction, and will work with affected residents and businesses to manage any impacts resulting from the project.
BC Hydro has been consulting with the public on this project since 2006 and will to continue to work with them to resolve issues throughout the construction process.
In addition, a separate First Nations consultation process is being led by BC Hydro's Aboriginal Relations and Negotiations Department.

What's happened so far
Public engagement on the Ruskin dam and powerhouse upgrade project began in 2006. Here are some of the ways we've engaged with the more than 4,000 residences and businesses in the project area:
- Advertisements have been placed in local newspapers
- Annual community open houses and numerous meetings with local stakeholder groups and residents gave members of the public the opportunity to speak directly with the project team and share their views and ideas.
- Regular updates were also provided to the District of Mission council, mayor and staff.
BC Hydro continues to engage with the community and affected stakeholders.
Please see the Information Centre for copies of materials that have been provided to the public, residents and businesses regarding the project.
