High Pressure Sodium Lamps

High pressure sodium (HPS) lamps are high intensity discharge (HID) lamps that ionize sodium vapour. HPS lamps require a ballast in order to operate as a high voltage pulse is required to start the lamp. HPS lamps require time, typically three to four minutes to reach full brightness.
