Compact Fluorescent (4 pin)

Pin based compact fluorescent lamps are used in fixtures with a hardwired ballast. A four pin compact fluorescent comes in many configurations, but each has four pins that connect to the fixture base. Pin based CFLs use slightly different bases and sockets to eliminate the possibility of using a lamp that is incorrect for the fixture.
