At BC Hydro, we believe that creating Power Smart awareness in the next generation is one of the keys to long-term energy sustainability for our province.

We work with educators and curriculum specialists to develop high-quality, engaging and relevant resources that provide valuable information on energy efficiency, energy alternatives, electrical safety, sustainability and the environment.

Energy-saving activities introduced in the classroom make conservation relevant to students' lives and will help them make wise energy decisions today and in the future. That's why we're in the schools informing – and learning from – the next generation.

Energy Detectives Kindergarten to Grade 3 Students discover their inner detectives by following Smarty and the Energy Detectives in solving The Mysterious Equation. Safety Education Grades 5 to 7 Are you smarter than a sixth grader in electrical safety? Community Partnerships & Contests BC Hydro sponsors numerous community initiatives, including Go Beyond, a large-scale campus climate action campaign.		Energy Campaigns Grades 4 to 7 Students get opportunities to explore energy use and develop strategies to encourage energy conservation. Energy Ambassadors Grades 9 to 12 An awareness, action and leadership program for B.C. high school students. My Generation Take a trip over to BC Hydro's new youth site, My Generation.

Community Champions This is a student program that encourages grade 4 to 12 classes around B.C. to nominate an environmental organization that is making a difference in their community. Learn more.
