Celebrity judges for Invent the FutureSept. 14, 2009 Blaine Kyllo The Invent the Future contest is in full swing, and clever and creative people are already submitting entries. Have you been wondering who will be deciding which videos and essays are the best of the bunch? Well, they are actors and athletes and activists and teachers and leaders. British Columbia native Cameron Bright, pictured here, is one of the judges. He's playing Alec in the upcoming Twilight movies. Cameron is joined on the Invent the Future jury by fellow actor Michael Urie, from Ugly Betty. Speedy Vancouver Canucks forward Ryan Kesler represents the athletes. Ryan is also a member of BC Hydro's Team Power Smart. Also a judge is Vancouver blogger and social media expert Miss604, also known as Rebecca Bollwitt. She's already written about her role as a judge and will undoubtedly be blogging more as the contest goes on. Then there's activist Simon Jackson, founder of the Spirit Bear Coalition, who was named as one of 60 "Heroes for the Planet" by Time Magazine. Joining them are scientist Matthew Carroll and teachers Murray Bulger, George Harris and Duane Elverum. It's an impressive list, for an impressive contest.
