Name: Rick and Sandra Post We learned how to save electricity from the Power the Games Tour at the Canada Day Celebrations in Surrey. Name: Natalie Gomes I didn't realize such simple steps could make such a big difference. Like unplugging my phone charger when not in use, hang a few loads of laundry outside to dry in the summer, turn off the lights when you leave a room. It makes a bigger difference than I had originally thought. Who knew? Name: Marni Braaten I saw a preview of their Summer 2009 Save Like a Champion Campaign. I tried curling and did the slalom course taking in the Power Smart questions at the same time. I learned more about the light bulbs and how they work to save energy. Name: Steve Roberts BC Hydro has, once again, created a fantastic program to present the message of energy conservation in B.C. Outreach teams will be bringing Olympic Games-inspired activities to events throughout the province. These activities - with a bold Power the Games theme - challenge skill and knowledge of power saving tips. The whole family can have fun trying curling, slalom, hockey and even bobsled, the whole time learning tips on how to keep B.C. green. It’s a fun and informative way for us all to get inspired during the lead up to the Olympic Games. |
