Summer camp-out – BC Hydro Outreach at provincial science camps

We’re not only at community events. The community outreach representatives have been hosting energy efficiency workshops around the province teaching young scientists that conservation can be as cool as an ENERGY STAR® rated fridge.

BC Hydro’s summer camp sponsorship program is stronger than ever. BC Hydro’s Outreach teams are at six science focused summer camps across the province getting children from grades 2 – 5 excited about electrical conservation. Since the camps launched last week there has been a lot of positive feedback from across the province. Camp Director from Science Al!ve based out of Simon Fraser University claims that BC Hydro’s “instructors were excellent and the presentation was the best seen in all (his) years at Science Al!ve” Other camps enjoyed BC Hydro’s conservation themed slalom course claiming that many of the students wore their ‘Save Like a Champion’ medals all day.
