2010 Winter Games ticket winner conserves at home
Every little bit helps. That's the way Ying Cui of Surrey, B.C. and her eight-year-old son Ying Jia plan to reduce their electricity consumption.
The pair won four tickets to a 2010 Winter Games event by participating in Spirit of BC Week's Family Skate Day, presented by BC Hydro in February, and joining Team Power Smart.
As new Team Power Smart members, the family will continue to turn off lights when they are leaving a room, wash their clothes in cold water – hanging small clothing and towels to dry – and replace their old appliances with ENERGY STAR-rated ones.
