The Power the Games Tour launch on June 5th gave some of our customers the first chance to check out the Conservation Lab and our activities. Natalie Gomes of Surrey jumped at the opportunity and learned that the little things help too. “I didn't realize such simple steps could make such a big difference," she said. "Like unplugging my phone charger when not in use, hang a few loads of laundry outside to dry in the summer, turn off the lights when you leave a room. It makes a bigger difference than I had originally thought. Who knew?” Natalie received an energy saving gift bag through our Spot the Tour contest for telling us what she learned after seeing us at the event. Remember, that one of the benefits of joining Team Power Smart is that you'll be entered in this month's draw for a 2010 Winter Games ticket package. Community, conservation and contests We’re not alone in our commitment to sustain British Columbia for generations. That’s why BC Hydro partners with organizations who share our values to help communities and promote environmental leadership. These partnerships allow us to engage and educate our customers through contests, events and promotions that give you more reasons to save electricity, and help us toward our goal of B.C. electricity self-sufficiency by 2016.
