Son convinces dad to join Team Power Smart, dad wins tickets

Doug Cupples didn’t expect to join Team Power Smart at Surrey’s Canada Day celebration but, after trying out our Olympic themed energy saving activities, Doug’s son convinced him to join.

Joining the team paid off big for Doug. Not only will he be able to track his conservation progress and compare his consumption to other homes, he also won tickets to the 2010 Winter Games.

Doug has a pretty good knowledge of energy conservation. He already uses compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), has a high efficiency furnace and unplugs his electronics where possible. One project that he has planned is to install occupancy sensors in places where lights are often left on like the bathrooms and the kids’ rooms.

Now that Doug’s son has tried out our energy saving activities, he’ll be turning off the lights more often and Doug will have even more energy saving tips in his arsenal for joining Team Power Smart.

Doug is excited to receive his tickets to the 2010 Winter Games and wants everyone out there to use CFLs.

By signing up for Team Power Smart, you can be entered to win tickets to the 2010 Winter Games too! Visit Team Power Smart Contests for more information.
