To see which tools we use to evaluate a funding application internally, please see below the questions we ask ourselves. About 50% of the weighting is in alignment with BC Hydro values and employee engagement, with the remaining 50% based on the opportunity to spread the message of conservation across the province. The questions below have been structured to take this into consideration.

Values and employee engagement potential

  1. Is the applicant credible, reputable and legitimate, and in alignment with BC Hydro's guiding principles and short term priorities? [PDF, 52 Kb]
  2. Is there an opportunity for a direct role by the Outreach team to activate / participate in the initiative?
  3. Does the opportunity provide networking or recruitment potential?
  4. Does the opportunity provide employee involvement or volunteering opportunities?
  5. Does the opportunity help a BC Hydro business group deliver on key business objectives and enhance relationships with customers?

Branding and conservation message potential

  1. Is the content or theme of the opportunity naturally aligned with our conservation message?
  2. Does the opportunity allow us to reach a significant number of people and have quality interactions with them?
  3. Is there an opportunity to promote BC Hydro's conservation message through logo placement, media relations, advertising, collateral materials and web links?
  4. Will the conservation message and BC Hydro support be prevalent enough to be recognized by most participants/recipients?
  5. Does the applicant organization have financial stability, good management and enough employees or volunteers to deliver on the promised benefits?
