Supporting Stewardship
BC Hydro is pleased to support the Community Salmon program (CSP) that is an important initiative offered by the Pacific Salmon Foundation. This program supports streamkeeping volunteers around the province, who address pacific salmon conservation, enhancement, habitat restoration, and community education.

How we invest
Sponsorships and donations
BC Hydro supports non-profit organizations in our communities though sponsorships and donations that align with our business objectives [PDF, 579 KB].
Conservation Community of Practice
We support the development of a conservation community of practice made up of NGO's, businesses, municipalities, and individuals who are leading conservation initiatives in their communities.
Computers for schools
Computer donation requests are referred to Computer for schools, a non-profit organization that safely refurbishes donated computers.
Scholarships and endowments
We have scholarships and endowments throughout the province that support BC Hydro's business objectives [PDF, 579 KB] and future-hiring needs.
Investment recovery
Our Investment Recovery department handles surplus materials and equipment assets.
Power Pioneers
The Power Pioneers Association is an organization of retired BC Hydro employees who work together to support the communities and residents of B.C.
Community Champions
The Community Champions Program engages non-profit organizations in B.C. that demonstrate environmental leadership in their community.

BC Hydro is a participant of LBG Canada, a growing group of companies committed to maximizing the value of their community investments – for the community and for the business. LBG Canada represents the highest standard in community investment management, performance measurement and reporting.
Imagine Canada
The Caring Company designation from Imagine Canada is awarded to just 120 other Canadian companies each year. It designates that BC Hydro meets the 20-year old organization's benchmark for community investment: committing a minimum of one per cent of pre-tax domestic profit to charities and non-profit organizations.
