'Fish passage' in this context refers to any project that would potentially result in the upstream movement of fish past existing BC Hydro dams, generating stations or related facilities. BC Hydro has established an approach to fish passage under the Fish Passage Decision Framework for BC Hydro Facilities document.
Linked to this approach, is a current initiative to udpate BCRP's strategic watershed plans to better reflect the most limiting factors to fish and wildlife as a result of the ecological footprint left by constructing hydroelectric facilities in BC Hydro's Bridge Coastal generating area. The watershed plans will establish watershed restoration objectives that will be important in making restoration investment decision, including the prioritization of fish passage.
