Process
The BCRP review process involved 3 stages. Applications must be approved at successive stages to move forward to the next.
Stage 1: Review by Program Office
Program Office staff review proposals to ensure general applicability to program objectives and that he application is complete.
See the Application Checklist for minimum requirements.
Stage 2: Review by one of 4 regional Technical Review Committees (TRCs)
Region specific TRCs evaluate applications for technical elements. They help ensure the project is:
- Has overall scientific feasibility
- Project is practical
- Project deliverables are appropriate given the footprint impacts you are looking to address
- Thorough safety planning completed
Depending on where your project is occurring and whether it is focussed on fish or wildlife, the TRC reviewing your application will have local, regionally-specific expertise.
Stage 3: Review by Management Board
The Management Board reviews proposals based on value-added criteria and overall appropriateness given program objectives. Value-added criteria are:
- In-kind contributions and/or partnered funding (e.g dollar ratio of requested BCRP funds to other cost covering sources)
- Public awareness/Communication planning
- Expressed support from Agencies, First Nations, and local stakeholder or advocacy groups
