The BC Hydro Employees' Community Services (HYDRECS) Committee has selected its special projects for the 2011 Fundraising Campaign being launched on September 28, 2010 to November 30, 2010.

Each year, the HYDRECS Committee conduct a provincial fundraising campaign that encourages BC Hydro employees and retirees to donate towards their favourite registered charity, or the pre-selected special projects. All financial contributions received by HYDRECS are directed to the charities. Pledges can easily be made as a one-time lump sum, payroll deductions, annual vacation days, or overtime bank days.

To be eligible as a special project the organization must be a B.C.-registered charity seeking funds for a specific capital project that serves the community in a specific B.C. region or the entire province.

The HYDRECS Committee is pleased to announce the 2011 HYDRECS Campaign Special Projects:

  • The provincial special project is the BC Women's Hospital and Health Centre Foundation and will receive up to $100,000 to fund a real time high resolution ultra sound machine;
  • The Lower Mainland special project is the Union Gospel Mission that will receive up to $30,000 to fund two tilting steam kettles;
  • The Vancouver Island special project is the Denman Health Centre Society that will receive up to $10,000 to fund an emergency generator;
