This program was initiated to reduce congestion and associated air pollution from single-occupant employee vehicles commuting to and from work. A maximum of seven free parking passes is offered to carpoolers with at least three regular riders at the Dunsmuir office in Vancouver. An employee discount is offered to buyers of bus passes in the Lower Mainland as part of the TransLink Pass Program. The number of passes appears lower this year due to transfer of approximately 90 riders to Accenture Business Services for Utilities. Carpooling numbers were lower than last year due to enforcement of three person minimum needed to qualify for carpool privileges. This action also served to increase ridership per vehicle that remained in the program.
