Each certificate sold represents the environmental and social benefits, including emission reductions, from one megawatt hour of green power generation over and above BC Hydro's corporate energy portfolio commitments. Thanks to the leading organizations that purchased Green Power Certificates during the two-year pilot phase of the program and, because of expected growth in sales in upcoming years, BC Hydro has committed to offer Green Power Certificates on an ongoing basis.
