The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) is a multi-stakeholder process and independent institution whose mission is to develop and disseminate globally applicable sustainability reporting guidelines. These guidelines are intended to serve as a generally accepted framework for reporting on a company’s economic, environmental and social performance and are for voluntary use by organizations, worldwide, to prepare their annual or sustainability reports.

BC Hydro has been using the GRI guidelines since 2003, and more recently adopted the G3 and Electricity Utility Sector Supplement (EUSS) framework to support our annual sustainability reporting. The complete list of the G3 and EUSS recommended disclosures and indicators are provided for each of the categories below – Company Profile, Economic, Environmental and Social – along with BC Hydro's response which consists of links to relevant information in our 2010 Annual Report, our online set of performance indicators within the BC Hydro/GRI Comparative Index, and/or additional information available on BC Hydro website.
