Teresa Conway
President & CEO Powerex
Teresa is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years business experience, including 10 years in energy trading and marketing.
Since joining Powerex – the power marketing subsidiary of BC Hydro – in 1993, Teresa has held various executive positions, including Chief Financial Officer, Vice-President Finance, Vice-President Strategic Planning and Interim Chief Operating Officer. In all these capacities, she has played a significant role in the company's success.
In May 2005, Teresa was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Powerex. In this position, Teresa reports to Powerex's Chair and its Board of Directors, and works in close partnership with BC Hydro's CEO and executive team. Her responsibilities include strategically managing and directing the marketing, trade policy, legal, human resources, financial, and overall operations of the company. As a member of BC Hydro's executive team, she is also responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans that complement BC Hydro's core business strategy and mission.
Outside of work Teresa enjoys spending time with her daughters and husband, Rich. She also provides leadership in a number of community and school organizations.
Powerex
Powerex is the electricity marketing subsidiary of BC Hydro. Established in 1988, Powerex buys, sells and exchanges electricity products and services outside of B.C., primarily in the western U.S. and western Canada. Trade partners include utilities, large industrial customers, independent power producers, co-generators and marketers.
