Ray Stewart was appointed Chief Safety, Health and Environment Officer in June 2006. He is responsible for identifying risks, strategically advising the Corporation, and preparing policies and management requirements with respect to occupational safety and health, dam safety, public safety, security, emergency planning and preparedness, and environment and sustainability.
Since joining BC Hydro in 1981, Ray has held a number of technical, supervisory and managerial positions throughout BC Hydro, most recently as Director of Dam Safety in Generation.
Ray holds a Civil Engineering degree from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland and a Masters degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Alberta.
