Senior Vice-President, Field Operations

Leigh Ann Shoji-LeeLeigh Ann Shoji-Lee joined BC Hydro as Senior Vice-President of Field Operations on December 1, 2008. Prior to joining BC Hydro, she spent nearly 20 years working at Union Gas Limited and its affiliated companies. Starting in 1989, she worked in increasingly responsible roles in Operations, Engineering, as well as Environment, Health and Safety. Most recently she was the Vice-President of Engineering, Construction, Storage and Transmission Operations. From 2004 to 2007, Leigh Ann held the positions of Vice President, Operations, and Director Operations Technical Support Engineering. Prior to her tenure with Union Gas Limited, Leigh Ann was the Director of Environment, Health and Safety at Duke Energy Gas Transmission in Vancouver from 2000 to 2004. She has also held several other leadership roles at Union Gas including Director, Environment, Health and Safety, Sustainable Development and Aboriginal Affairs.

Leigh Ann brings a diverse skill set to BC Hydro, including strategic planning, organizational change management and communications management. She has leadership experience in cross-functional teams integrating engineering standards across North America, and has successfully implemented several major organizational changes at both Union Gas and at Duke Energy Gas Transmission. She has also managed several complex projects and issues as well as developed and maintained relationships with federal, provincial and municipal stakeholders.

Leigh Ann has an MBA and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering.

Active in the community, Leigh Ann was recently on the Board of Directors for the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre and was a member of the Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement. Her other previous volunteer positions include: past Vice-Chair of Junior Achievement, past Chair of Chatham-Kent Community Foundation and past member of the Board of Leadership Vancouver.
