Mr. Brown has served as a member of Canaccord Capital's investment banking team since joining the firm as an associate in 1997. He has extensive experience in equity financing and fiscal advisory for emerging growth companies in the sectors of junior industrial, resource development, renewable energy and technology. From 2002 – 2006, Mr. Brown was based in Vancouver and managed the investment banking activity in Western Canada. In the process, he led a number of Initial Public Offerings, Private Placements and Merger and Acquisitions.

In June of 2006, he assumed the role as Head of Investment Banking For Canaccord Adams in the United States overseeing operations in Boston, New York, San Francisco and Houston. Mr. Brown leads a team of 48 banking professionals with a coordinated effort between equity research, sales and trading to focus on growth companies in the areas of sustainability, technology and life sciences. He is based in Boston and now holds the role of President of the US Operations. He also sits as a director of Canaccord Adams Inc. and is a member of Canaccord Capital's Global Executive Committee.

Mr. Brown has a background in project finance, is a graduate with distinction of McGill University (B.A.), is a Chartered Business Valuator (a member of The Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators), and serves on the National Advisory Committee for the TSX Group Venture Exchange (Toronto Stock Exchange Group). He holds the Series 7 equivalent in Canada and has successfully completed the Series 24 and Series 63 examinations in the US.

Mr. Brown will serve a two-year term on BC Hydro's Board, until June 5, 2010.
