Brenda Eaton is Chair of BC Housing, which develops, manages and administers subsidized housing for 100,000 households in B.C. She is also on the boards of several private and not-for-profit organizations.
Previously, Eaton held a variety of senior positions in the B.C. Public Service, most recently as Deputy Minister to the Premier and prior to that as Deputy Minister in Finance and Treasury Board; Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources; and Social Services. For four years she was VP of Operations at the Capital Health Region.
Eaton's past Board participation includes the International Financial Centre, International Maritime Centre, B.C. Real Estate Foundation, International Commercial Arbitration Centre, Healthcare Benefit Trust and the Municipal Pension Advisory Board.
As a member of BC Hydro's Audit and Risk Management Committee, Eaton brings significant financial expertise. As B.C.'s Deputy Minister of Finance she was responsible for budgeting and the Province's annual financial accounts; managed the Province's treasury operation, debt program and $40 billion investment portfolio, and held responsibility for the risk management operation of the Province and its entities. She was also Chief Financial Officer for the Capital Health Region, has served on the boards of a venture capital fund and a real estate fund, and has served as trustee on a health benefit board and an advisor on a pension board.
Eaton holds a Bachelor of Economics and Master of Economics. She has been awarded the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal and has three times been named in the 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada.
